6th Series Test Description - Land/Water Blind

6th Series Test Description

43 dog/handler teams are called back to run the 6th Series this afternoon

Land/Water Blind
The 6th Series is a Land Water Blind with a Dry Pop. We are running from the same mound as in test 5, but the mat has been moved. We are now facing Southwest. There are 2 gunners in the field to the handlers left, these gunners are for the dry pop. The order for this blind is:

1. Dog is in the holding blind

2. Dry Pop occurs while the dog is in the holding blind

3. Dog's # is called, dog and handler go to the mat and run the blind

The line to this blind will take the dog down a hill and out into a pond approximately 100 yards from the mat. Coming out of the pond the dog must then navigate a line from the pond to the stake which is approximately 200 additional yards from the pond. In that additional 200 yards, there is a swale where the handler looses sight of the dog for a few seconds. When the dog comes out of the swale there is a short distance to the blind. This is a crucial spot because the dog may come up heading away from the blind for the dry pop area or to the far right heading off into the field.

From the vantage point of the RN Blog team, we are unable to see the dogs run, but we will report on the whistles or any pick ups that occur.

This test is taking approximately 3-4 minutes per dog

Dog #35 will start this Series
