8th Series Test Description - Land/Water Quad

8th Series Test Description
31 dog/handler teams will start the 8th Series

Land/Water Quad with 3 Retired Guns and an Honor
Series 8 is located near the same property as the 7th Series – at the Kongsore Property. We have just moved the mat and it is now facing South overlooking a beautiful mowed field against a backdrop of evergreen hills

There is a pond to the handlers right, as well as one straight ahead with a single large tree in between them. To the left there is a road and a hill.

All guns, except the Flyer Station will retire, and there is an honor after all four birds have been retrieved.

Bird # 1 (LR) is a Drake Duck shot and thrown from the left of a small grove of trees located down the field and past a pond. The bird is thrown right to left and lands downhill into a little ditch approximately 360 yards from the mat. The gunners will retire into the trees after they throw their bird. The dogs may go through the pond on their way to locating this bird. We will refer to this bird as LR for Long Retired.

Bird # 2 (MR) is down the Middle Right of the field. The bird is a Hen Duck thrown left, landing at the edge of the far pond. This bird will fall approximately 195 yards from the mat. The gunners will then retire behind the trees. We will refer to this bird as MR for Middle Retired.

Bird # 3 (I) is a Hen Duck gun station located to the right of the closest pond. This bird is also thrown to the left and lands on an island located in the middle of a pond. The bird will land approximately 90 yards from the mat. These gunners will also retire. We will refer to this bird as I for Island Bird.

Bird # 4 (F) is a Drake Flyer. The gun station is located out to the left at the base of a hill. The gunners are set up on a road and will throw and then shoot this bird to land up the hill at approximately 85 yards from the mat. We will refer to this bird as F for Flyer.

There is an Honor at the end of the test.

This test will take approximately 9-11 minutes per dog to complete.

Dog #70 will Start this Series

7th Series Test Description - Land/Water Blind

7th Series Test Description

39 dog/handler teams are called back to run the 7th Series this morning

Land/Water Blind
The 7th Series is a Land Water Blind located at the Morley's Property.

The mat is sitting on the side of a hill facing a beautiful valley that has multiple pieces of water, a few strips of cover, hay bales dotting the fields and a few mounds. Its stunning!

This Dead Drake is located at 265 yards out from the mat and will first take the dog from the mat down a hill and across a road. The handler will send them left of a bale, and across the left side of a rectangular pond and over the levee. There is a large piece of cover the dog needs to stay left of and proceed to the left end of the pond - and then go up and over a point on the left. The dog will then cross the pond heading towards 2 large trees. The bird is located just in front of these 2 trees.

This test is taking approximately 4 minutes per dog

Dog #56 will start this Series
